A man who turned his penis into a giant robot’s body has been praised by scientists as being “a model of scientific innovation”.
The man, who goes by the name Mr Big, has become a worldwide sensation after being spotted at the world’s biggest robotics fair in Las Vegas earlier this year.
The video went viral on social media and has been viewed more than 3.4 million times, according to the International Robot Association, which has a global network of researchers working on robots.
Dr Jonathan Ritsema, who runs the International Robots of Friendship program at the University of Pennsylvania, said Mr Big had “exceeded the high expectations” of the robot industry and “set a benchmark for the future”.
“We’ve never seen a man like this before,” Dr Ritsela said.
“The scale and size of the penis and the fact that he’s the size of a large human body is beyond anything we’ve ever seen before.”
This is a rare example of a man doing something extraordinary and having a significant impact on society.
“The male body is the size and shape of a human arm, Dr Ritssela told ABC News.
Mr Big is believed to be the first to use artificial intelligence to design a robot to replicate human behaviour.”
He’s the first man to design his own robot body,” Dr Robert B. Biederman, professor of robotics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, told ABC Radio Melbourne.”
It was really a very interesting challenge to design something that would work in a real world environment.
“The human body has an enormous amount of body fat and it is thought to contribute to the risk of diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
The International Robot Assocation (IRAA) also praised Mr Big’s work.”
Mr Big’s design and engineering skills are a testament to his passion for robotics and a clear understanding of how to take that passion to the next level,” Dr Bieder said.”[It is] a rare opportunity to see an engineering breakthrough like this, and to see a man take the lead in creating an intelligent robot.
