A Palestinian woman was arrested Monday for allegedly killing and wounding a man on campus last year and using his car to hit two other pedestrians, authorities said.
The Palestinian woman, Aya Hamed al-Shammari, 19, was arrested near the Berkeley campus near the university’s Jewish Center on suspicion that she killed Yael Shams, 28, and injured another man, police said in a statement.
Al-Shams, of Ashkelon, was found dead of a gunshot wound in his car on Feb. 18, 2016, the statement said.
Police have not said whether the suspect used Shams’ car or whether it was stolen.
